Beyond and Below a fundraising event in aid of conservation at The Royal Geographical Society,London

Heya, all! I guess it's not a secret that I have spent a couple of days in London and I would like to tell you more about it. I may sound too serious as it is a serious topic. I like to help when I can. If not us, then who? - This is the question that comes to my mind when I see a real-world problem. As so many species are endangered and many more are going to extinct very soon and in this situation so much depends on us, most of us in different ways. Explorers Against Extinction gives us a chance to participate in this beautiful mission supporting people who are doing everything possible to save endangered species. This year it will be 21 specific conservation project all around the world, through the "21 For 21" fund-raising campaign. My input to the project this year is the creation of the endangered Golden-Headed Lion Tamarin drawing which is now a part of the exhibition and the online auction (see link at the bottom). The work has been selected into the dozen finalists of the year and so I was invited to visit a charity event Beyond & Below on November 18. I was happy to visit the event where we could dive into the beautiful work of some of these conservation projects and dedicated people. The charity trustees Rob and Sara (and their supporting families) work very hard to keep it all moving. Pip Stewart patron of the organisation was leading the event. The representatives from "The Gorilla Organization" and "Manta Trust"shared videos and stories about their works, values, collaborations and achievements. The headline Speaker - Philip Dalton showed pieces from documentaries that were made using innovative robotic spy cameras. One of those, the baby gorilla, accompanied him for the event and I was allowed to give it a cuddle. The other exciting personal thing that happened to me - I met one of my favourite artists who I had "known" virtually for a few years. It was so exciting to meet Lisa Ann Watkins in person. I wished to keep it simple but this was full of positive emotions that I wish to share! However the main thing - please don't forget to visit the exhibition/auction especially if you are looking for a special gift with a great cause! https://explorersagainstextinction.irostrum.com/...
